10 things to do this summer.

Before the summer started I set myself 10 things that I wanted to achieve. They had to be new things that I wouldn't usually do or things that would be a challenge. Some things on there may look quite simple or maybe even silly to you, but as I broke my Femur (the biggest bone in your body) in April, to me they are a milestone.

You can see the list above, you can also see some ticks and half ticks. Let me explain.

#1 - Fly a Kite! I think this is one of the first things that got ticked off. We flew a 'stunter' kite and my favourite...the pirate ship! This is something I hadn't done since being a child and remember it always being so stressful with my dad because I wasn't very good. But this time was fun.

#2 - Swim in the sea! Part of my physio therapy was to get in the sea as the salt water helps heal scars and the waves or current helps to strengthen the muscles again. Plus i love the sea, so any excuse to go down to the beach and get in the water and I am a happy girl.

#3 - Go Camping! As much as I was embarrassed as a youngster, I am now proud to say that I was not only a Brownie but also a Girl Guide. That along with Camping at least once a year with my family makes me a very keen camper. The previous summer, or maybe even year before, I hadn't manage to get the tent up at all. But this year, I did good, with a weekend in Bournemouth, a night in North Cornwall and a long weekend at a festival. Must do more next year.

#4 - Visit a new European country! I'm cheating a little, this hasn't been done yet. But work a sunny summer events took over a little, yawn yawn. But I am going to Barcelona next week, so keep a watch for how that goes!

#5 - Surf! Alright, recovery from my injury was fast. I was back to work in 2 weeks after surgery and squatting at 4 weeks post op. But standing on an unstable or moving floor proved tricky until just a few weeks ago. So I havn't been surfing in that water. I did however try paddle boarding and I have made my own fitness program to train especially for surfing, which I now teach.

#6 - Penny Board! This is how I broke my leg in the first place, without going in to graphic details, I was going down a hill and heard it snap. I am determined to get back on my board and face my fears. I have managed to skate around my house with little brother in tow, but need to find the courage to go further.

#7 - Go to a new Festival! This summer I attended two new festivals,  Reading festival and Leopallooza, and they were epic! In the past years I have been a regularly present at a local surf, skate, music festival called Boardmasters, you may recognise it. This year I ventured onwards and am now a mad fan of Josh Record, Travis Barker, Twin Atlantic and Bombay Bicycle Club, to name a few.

#8 - Learn a Language! This failed miserably, I cant even pretend. I tried Spanish through an app on my phone.  It was embarrassing, lets not talk about that.

#9 - Be more girly! The beginning of the summer was a bit of a fail, the dressings, flight socks and bruised legs made me want to hide at the cost of sweating all the time. When the crutches were taken away, the legs came out and I definitely wore a dress at least 8 times. Plus accessories, this is an unknown for me being sporty and trendy, not girly.  I like it though, I'll carry on.

#10 - Visit somewhere new in the UK! This should be easy. I guess this weekend I'm going to Kent for a wedding, which is a new place. (photos to come) On a recent visit to London I went to Shoreditch, which is awesome. There will be a blog post coming about this very soon. 

I think I did very well, don't you? 
It got me so active and there hasn't been a weekend where I havn't done something interesting. I urge you all to write a list and see what you can get ticked off. 
Maybe, this month I want to. Or by the time I'm 25 (or other age) I want to...
